See you in a few weeks
I'm headed abroad for some long-awaited travel. But I won't leave you hanging while I'm gone.
If you follow me on social media, you probably already know that I’m obsessed with Italy.
My entire family is Italian (three of my grandparents were immigrants), and I became an Italian dual-citizen last summer—a milestone that was six years in the making. I also had the incredible privilege of studying abroad in Venice during college (a literal dream, as you can imagine). But I actually haven’t been back in more than 5 years.
That’s about to change. This month, I’m boarding a plane bound for Italy, where I’ll be visiting a big range of places—some old, some new—including the Dolomites (pictured above) for a 7-day hiking trek.
I’m telling you all of this because my trip means I’ll be away from my laptop for a bit. I don’t want to leave you all hanging, though, so I’ve lined up some newsletters to hold you over in the meantime.
While I’m gone, I’ll be re-publishing some of my favorite pieces that were previously available only to paid subscribers. (Haven’t you heard? I got rid of my paywall!) I hope they’ll give you a better understanding of how to leverage your position in the BSA to create a more inclusive and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ scouts and scouters.
And with that, I take my leave. Or as the Italians would say: arrivederci!
