Back in October, I spoke with Kaleen Deatherage, leader of the Scouts BSA task force for diversity, equity and inclusion.
We spoke about her passion for this work, and her vision to make the BSA a place where all youth are not simply invited, but welcomed.
“If we really want to benefit from the diverse thinking and life experiences of all of those amazing people, then it's incumbent upon us to pull up more chairs to the table and make sure that our Scouting spaces are really ready to engage with all of those people where they're at,” she told me.
