New to Morally Straight: A podcast, and a place to connect
I'm expanding what I offer through this newsletter. I hope you'll join me!
You might have missed it, but there have been some additions to Morally Straight over the past few weeks.
The one I’m most excited about is my new podcast! Each month, I’m sitting down for a 20-minute conversation with one of the scouters, teenagers, parents, activists or everyday Americans who fought for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the Boy Scouts of America.
I published the first episode in April. In this conversation, I talked to Steven Cozza, who as a teenager in the 1990s founded Scouting for All, one of the first campaigns for gay inclusion in the BSA. We talked about what drew him into Scouting, why he decided to fight for it and how it continues to shape his life today
The podcast is another benefit for my paid subscribers, whose contributions are seriously the reason why I can keep writing this newsletter every week. I’d love for as many of you as possible to listen to my interview with Cozza, and for you to catch next month’s episode. So I’m offering a discount on subscriptions that you can claim until just before my next podcast drops on May 17th.
And if you’re already a paid subscriber, head on over and give my first episode a listen.
There’s one other new feature for this newsletter, and it’s called Notes. This is a new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like works-in-progress or quick questions.
Here’s how to join: Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Morally Straight, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Morally Straight can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
